Occupational Therapist

Step Forward Therapy Inc. is looking to hire a part time or full time highly enthusiastic compassionate Occupational Therapist who is ready to help both children and families move forward. We are a growing clinic looking to bring on a strong Occupational Therapist to help continue to grow our Occupational Therapy department.

Job Description:

Provide evaluations, identifying client’s strengths and weaknesses

Develops a treatment plan utilizing goals and objectives; make changes to treatment plans as needed

Provides 1:1 therapeutic intervention and group instruction based on the needs of the client

Completes new patient intakes and parental interviews for therapy

Maintains OT equipment, including safety checks and staff training for usage

Participation in individual and weekly case-based multidisciplinary group mentoring

 

Qualifications:

Experience in pediatrics

Minimum of a Master’s degree in OT

License to practice occupational therapy within the state

Positive, teamwork attitude

Passion for working with children from infancy through adolescence

Sensory processing disorders experience encouraged

Compentencey in written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preschool Teacher/Developmental Therapist

 

We are seeking a part-time with possibility of full-time Developmental Therapist to teach therapeutic preschool program. The developmental therapist will join a team that includes occupational and speech therapists who collaborate to provide an intensive therapeutic preschool program for children with developmental delays.This position involves leading a small group of 12 children ages 2.5-5 years old, collaborating with our therapeutic team of specialists, developing team plan of cares and administering evaluations.Experience working with young children with autism, sensory processing disorders and other developmental delays is required. Experience with multi-sensory based curriculum, such as Zoophonics, Jolly Phonics, Handwriting without Tears, Sensory Integration, ABA and DIR/Floortime is preferred.

Developmental therapists with past teaching and case management experience highly preferred.The ideal candidate is one who is passionate about working with young children and driven to develop professionally. Developmental Therapist Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Social Work required
  • ISBE- Learning Behavior Specialists I (LBS I) certification OR
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker OR
  • Developmental Therapist Illinois Early Intervention Credential required

Front Office/Billing Assistant

 

Step Forward Therapy is seeking a dynamic office assistant to work in our growing clinic. The position is part-time with the opportunity for full time. Duties will include, but are not limited to the following: collecting patient payments, answering patient questions in person and over the phone. Answering phones for incoming calls, researching insurance-related payment discrepancies and problems, entering and submitting electronic medical billing, inputting therapist scheduling data and keeping this up to date, posting payments, and managing patient accounts, using daily spreadsheets to track appointments/cancellations and collecting co-insurance payments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Utilize billing program to manage all therapist session scheduling, medical billing, insurance claim payments, patient payments, and all things accounts a receivable.
  • Record all insurance payments/EOB’s that come in the mail and all client payments maintaining accurate and up to date balances for all Step Forward Therapy patients.
  • Maintain a professional and friendly interaction with clients in person and on the phone, answering any questions they may have about their appointments or their account balances.
  • Weekly claim submission: will enter therapist timesheets in order to submit medical billing claims.
  • On-going phone follow-up with insurance companies and labor funds will be necessary to track closely all coverage limits and authorizations for services.
  • Maintain hard copy of all patient records in the office working files
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality, and adhere to all HIPPA guidelines and regulations
  • Perform general clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
  • Support staff in various projects and other duties as assigned by management.
  • Light cleaning of the restrooms and waiting room each morning and evening.

Knowledge and skill requirements: Candidate must be very detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking in a fast paced office environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Proficient in MS Office based programs a plus, with outstanding technical and computer aptitude required in order to master billing programs quickly and effectively.
